Learning a whole new program, design rules, and just overall how to design can be hard enough on its own. Let alone traveling 5 hours away from home to work with new people to figure out just how to make the best book possible. The echo 2017 yearbook was Blanc Slate which meant we had a lot to learn about design wise. I took on the role of taking notes and working with advisors to figure out just how we would do as many doodles as we could dream of. This meant that I would later have to teach other designers how these doodles can be created.

who AM I ?
Going to a high school with over 2,700 students can be a little overwhelming. It can even be hard for you to figure out who you truly are. Grand Blanc High School is a school filled with so many different people, and so many different stories. However, my story didn't truly begin until my sophomore year when I join yearbook.
If you asked me who I was three years ago I would have just said a volleyball player. Now, I am more than that. I am a designer, a writer, a leader, and a photographer. I have learned more about myself and who I want to be through yearbook. I have become more open minded to what is out there. I have learned that not everyone is going to accept your work, but that's what comes with being a journalist. I have seen what it's really like to meet deadlines, and push a team that has lost all motivation.
I am not yearbook, but yearbook makes up a big part of what makes me, me. Yearbook has lead me to find my calling. It has filled my blanc slate, and has always allowed me to find my one more thing. I am Elizabeth Cheswick, but everyone calls me Libby!
